Hand Maggam & Aari Embroidery for Kukatpally Brides

Maggam work is the soul of a South Indian bridal wardrobe. Our karigars have been hand-embroidering bridal blouses, lehenga cholis and dupattas for over a decade at the Pragathi Nagar studio, which sits a short drive from Kukatpally, KPHB and Nizampet. Every kundan, zardosi thread and pearl is placed by hand on a traditional maggam frame — never machine-embroidered.

Why Kukatpally Brides Choose Nakshathra

We are a small karigar-led atelier, not an outsourced factory. The designer you meet during consultation supervises your piece end-to-end.

  • In-house karigars trained in traditional aari and maggam disciplines
  • Premium kundan, zardosi, pearl and cutdana from trusted suppliers
  • Reference-driven design — bring an inspiration image, we recreate it
  • Reinforced backings so stones and beads never come loose
  • WhatsApp progress updates so you need fewer studio visits

Popular Design Options

Traditional South Indian motifs remain evergreen, and we combine them freely with contemporary silhouettes for modern brides.

  • Peacock and mango motif bridal blouses
  • Temple border with kundan and pearl detailing
  • Zardosi paisleys with mirror and stone highlights
  • Floral vine embroidery for engagement and reception blouses
  • Full lehenga panels with mixed maggam and cutdana work

Fabric Recommendations

The base fabric decides how embroidery sits, catches light and lasts. We recommend fabrics that behave well in Hyderabad humidity through long wedding days.

  • Raw silk and dupion for structured bridal blouses
  • Banarasi and brocade for pattu saree pairings
  • Velvet for winter weddings and reception looks
  • Net and organza for lightweight designer overlays

Getting Here from Kukatpally

From Kukatpally and KPHB, the studio is roughly a 20-minute drive via Nizampet Road towards Pragathi Nagar. Metro riders can take the KPHB Colony station and continue by auto. Consultations are by appointment so a designer is always free for you.

Consultation Process

Every commission starts with a private consultation — walk into the studio or begin on WhatsApp. We review your reference, discuss placement, freeze the design on paper, and only then begin embroidery. You approve each stage before we move forward.

Delivery Timeline

A hand-embroidered bridal blouse takes 3 to 4 weeks. A full lehenga with maggam panels takes 5 to 6 weeks. Book at least 45 days ahead during peak wedding season (November–February and April–June).

Suitable Occasions

Bridal muhurtham, engagement, sangeet, reception, mother-of-bride outfits, sister-of-bride wear and heirloom saree revivals — anywhere hand embroidery elevates the moment.
