Maggam & Aari Embroidery in Pragathi Nagar

Maggam work is the soul of a South Indian bridal wardrobe. At Nakshathra Boutique, our karigars have been hand-embroidering bridal blouses, lehenga cholis and dupattas in the Pragathi Nagar studio for over a decade. Every kundan, every zardosi thread, every pearl is placed by hand on a traditional maggam frame — never machine-embroidered. Brides across Bachupally, Nizampet, Kukatpally, KPHB, Miyapur and greater Hyderabad choose us for heirloom-quality work that photographs beautifully and lasts a lifetime.

Why Choose Nakshathra Boutique

We are a small karigar-led atelier, not an outsourced factory. The person you speak to during consultation is the same designer who supervises your piece end-to-end.

  • In-house karigars trained in the traditional aari and maggam disciplines
  • Premium kundan, zardosi, pearl and cutdana sourced from trusted suppliers
  • Reference-driven design — bring an inspiration image, we recreate it
  • Reinforced backings so stones and beads never come loose
  • Wedding-week rush service on request wherever the design allows

Popular Design Options

Traditional South Indian motifs remain evergreen, but we combine them freely with contemporary silhouettes to suit modern brides.

  • Peacock and mango motif bridal blouses
  • Temple border with kundan and pearl detailing
  • Zardosi paisleys with mirror and stone highlights
  • Floral vine embroidery for engagement and reception blouses
  • Full lehenga panels with mixed maggam and cutdana work

Fabric Recommendations

The base fabric determines how the embroidery sits, catches light and lasts. We recommend and source fabrics that behave well under Hyderabad humidity and hours of wedding-day wear.

  • Raw silk and dupion for structured bridal blouses
  • Banarasi and brocade for pattu saree pairings
  • Velvet for winter weddings and reception looks
  • Net and organza for lightweight designer overlays

Consultation Process

Every maggam commission starts with a private consultation — walk into the Pragathi Nagar studio, or begin on WhatsApp. We review your reference, discuss placement, freeze the design on paper, and only then begin embroidery. You approve each stage before we move forward.

Delivery Timeline

A hand-embroidered bridal blouse takes 3 to 4 weeks. A full lehenga with maggam panels takes 5 to 6 weeks. Book at least 45 days ahead during peak wedding season (November–February and April–June).

Suitable Occasions

Bridal muhurtham, engagement, sangeet, reception, mother-of-bride outfits, sister-of-bride wear and heirloom saree revivals — anywhere hand embroidery elevates the moment.
